Universal Studios provides an extraordinary day of entertainment with their studio tour tram ride allowing you to view the whole layout of cinematic magic. The park also contains rides for small children. Zimmer Children's Museum is the place for the children to explore a variety of exhibits including water tables, and a Theatre and Stage. The California Science Center is one of the area´s largest, and it contains a multitude of interactive exhibits on Space and Science and admission is free to the museum. The complex contains the areas only IMAX Theatre if you want to take in a flick. Another museum slated for families is the Page Museum located at the Rancho La Brea Tar Pits. If your children are into Dinosaurs, don't miss brining them here to view a huge area of fossils. Beautiful in the day or in evening to watch the sun go down on the Pacific, the pier in Santa Monica, just outside the city is a beautiful spot to indulge in amusement park rides and games.

Santa Monica tempts visitors with its rugged coastline and atmosphere of a small town. It has a thriving art scene with an air of sophistication not unlike the style of a European beach community. Nearby, you will find Beverly Hills, Century City, Westwood, Brentwood and Bel Air where many of the film stars reside and you can too in a vacation rental. Open to the public without any charge, Hollywood Boulevard is a great place to walk viewing the Walk of Fame. Also on Hollywood Blvd, Grauman's Chinese Theater is pure Hollywood history, and a trip to LA is not complete without a visit. On the other end of the spectrum, you can always make reservations to one of the renowned celebrity chef and celebrity-owned restaurants. Being a major metropolis, Los Angeles has it all for shopaholics; in all price ranges and in all neighborhoods. Who hasn´t heard of Rodeo Drive and Wilshire Boulevard? These crossroads is the most famous shopping area in the country. Even if you get sticker shock at the pricing it is still a fun place to walk around and people watch. You maybe can even get a glimpse of a star. Of course if this shopping strip is too rich for you blood you can realistically find bargains galore in the L.A. Fashion District. This area houses 90 blocks loaded with items at wholesale and below retail pricing.
